When you visit the LT Travel website, move your mouse over the Contact Forms link at the top of the page. From there, you will be able to link directly to a form specifically created for our wedding. There is information there about flights and some accomodations. Once you fill that out and give Lina an idea of your travel dates and preferences, she will contact you with further details.

Getting to Iceland
Icelandair has daily direct flights from Boston, New York (JFK), Minneapolis and Baltimore. Lina has contracted a group rate with Icelandair. When you contact her, you will be able to book your flight now, but you will not have to pay until 45 days prior to departure. Between the time you book and the time you pay, she can keep an eye out for cheaper fare specials. You can also check the Web for a cheaper fare.
The international airport in Iceland is located in Keflavik, which is approx. 50km from Reykjavík, or about 40 to 50 minutes to reach Reykjavík.
Taxis are readily available and cost from ISK 5,000 to 8,000, depending on the time of day.
An alternative is to get from the airport to town is to take the Flybus.

Staying in Reykjavik
There are a number of hotels in Reykjavik. Currently, rooms have been blocked Hotel Centrum and Room with a View. These are just a couple options, which are close to the center of town, and offer a range of prices. As an alternative, for those who are interested, there are a number of guest houses throughout the city. These tend to be somewhat more affordable and are clean and well run, but some of the do not offer private baths, for example. A link is included below for more information on guest houses.
Reykjavik is a small and very walkable city, so we recommend that everyone stay in or close to the center of town. There is no real need to rent a car. Taxis are available and we will be providing bus transportation for some of the events. For example, The Centrum and Room with a View are a short five-minute walk from each other. Domskirkjan, where the wedding will be held, is located between both hotels.
Reykjavík features shopping, art galleries and cafes to keep everyone busy during the day. At night, people tend to go out late and stay out until early morning. It is definitely an experience.
Hotel Reykjavik Centrum is a fairly new 4-star hotel in the heart of the city, opened on April 1st 2005. It is located on one of Reykjavik’s oldest streets, Adalstraeti, in a newly renovated building, the oldest part of which was built in 1764. On each side of it, new buildings have been constructed in the likeness of their historic predecessors Fjalakötturinn and Uppsalir. The hotel spreads over all three buildings, and is designed in the style found in Reykjavík around 1900. During its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse from the Settlement Period were found. In 2006 an attractive exhibition centre will be opened under the hotel, where the longhouse’s remains will be on display together with related exhibits. Among the finds excavated at the site were Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating from approximately 870 AD.
Room with a View is a short-term apartment house located in the center of Reykjavik.
The rooms range from studios to rooms that can accommodate up to 10 people. Each has a kitchen and its own bathroom. The larger rooms (2+bedrooms) have at least 2 bathrooms. Some, if not all, rooms have access to one of the two Jacuzzis.
There are some drawbacks. The hotel only offers “Light Maid Service,” which means they provide towels, linens, etc. but do not make beds each day.
Guest Houses in Iceland
Iceland has many bed and breakfast types of accommodation at affordable prices. In central Reykjavík there are many small guest houses that offer comfortable, relaxing rooms with friendly hospitality, within a few minutes walking distance of the city center and church. The guesthouses of Reykjavik offer a wide variety of rooms and services. There are single, double and triple rooms, studio apartments and suites. Some even offer kitchen.
Below is a link to a site that lists many of Reykjavik's guest houese:
